How Molly the dog spends most of her day when the kids are outside.

I'm pretty sure she STILL prefers this over her former life of living in town where she looked at life from her kennel.

The scraps and bones she gleans from the house.

The wild animals she gets to ward off barking around and around the outside of the house each night.

The decaying pigs she samples across the road at the neighbors.

Not to mention the huge job she has scoping out the place each day from fence to fence and around and in each building.

No, even the most pampered poodle would trade his velvet pillow and canned meat product for the life Molly has.

Sounds like a great life for a dog, especially a Golden if that is indeed what your dog is! (Hard to tell from the back-end but nontheless.) But not every dog is suited or bred for such a life. A quick check of Encyclopaedia Britannica shows there are over 400 breeds of dog - wow! Good chance that there is a breed of dog that would fit nearly any one of us humans. I doubt it if a Golden or a Lab would survive in a NYC condo, but a smaller dog is perfect! I also doubt that my "pillow pooch" would survive on your farm. My point is this - I am glad you think your dog has a good life. Just don't look down on those of us whose lifestyle is different and may prefer our Shitzus over a bigger breed.

Yeah so Sara, I don't really see that you claimed that big dogs are better than little dogs.....although they might just be :)!! or that if you have a different lifestyle you are not a good person.....although I didn't read it upside down...so that could be how I missed that. All I know that I might accidently step on and kill a small dog as I am a big person, and walker would have a really dreadful life in the city!B
